New Name: Diversity, Equity, and Steering Coalition

Composition:
5 Faculty
3 Classified
1 Student (with one seat for the Student Government President)
5 Professional

Meeting Frequency:
Once per month.  Each campus will host meetings.

Intake Process: 
Persons wishing to serve on the DESC can submit an application to the Office of Diversity.  Applications will be available April 10, 2006.  E-mail all requests to Larry P. Mason.  The application will contain complete instructions about supplemental material requirements including a letter of recommendation by an individual who is well versed in diversity, equity and multiculturalism. 

Member Function
Members of the Diversity, Equity Steering Coalition will serve as CSN’s internal pulse.  A primary function is to identify internal issues that members deem important.  The DESC will be challenged with providing creative ideas and initiatives to address issues of inclusion, equity, access, campus life, multiculturalism, and retention, for both students and faculty. 

The DESC will evaluate CSN’s progress for the achievement of specific goals objectives every 4-6 months to measure CSN’s progress and make recommendations to the president.
