Classified Council
The Classified Council serves as an advisory group to the CSN President and is concerned with matters of Classified employee relations. It provides a forum for Classified employee suggestions, questions, or concerns. The Classified Council receives, considers, and makes recommendations on policies and procedures and provides a means of communication and dissemination of information to Classified employees of the College.
The Council consists of representatives who are apportioned by campus, with one representative for every 26 classified employees.

The Classified Council schedules a monthly gathering from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on the 3rd Thursday of each month. However, dates may vary due to holidays or other planned events. The sessions are conducted in a hybrid setup, allowing Classified Staff to participate either in person or through Teams. For individuals interested in joining from a distance, please utilize the link that is included within the monthly meeting agenda, which is shared by the Classified Council.

- May 15 - Virtual and NLV U 123
- June 26 (Third Thursday is June 19 - CSN is closed for Juneteenth) - Virtual and WC U 123
Upcoming Important Dates and Events
Any classified employee may submit written, proposed amendment(s) to the Bylaws to a Council representative. This proposal will become an action item at the next scheduled Council meeting.

The Classified Council consists of elected representatives on each campus who meet monthly to discuss and collaborate with all Classified employees regarding the work climate, shared governance, and other related topics. The Classified Council hosts several events throughout the year in benefit of Classified employees to enhance moral and encourage professional development.
Representative Responsibilities:
- Attend required meetings and events.
- Maintain a line of communication with Classified employees.
- When needed sit on committees that require Classified representation.
Representative elections run from May- June, with elected representatives terms being 2 years. Terms go from July 1- June 30.

- Classified and Professional staff may now process their Grant-In-Aid application for themselves, spouses, and dependents through Workday.
The purpose of the Classified Employee of the Month Award is to recognize exceptional classified employees who stand out among the many employees that consistently perform at a high level. The Classified Employee of the Month will receive $200.00, a certificate, a designated parking spot, and be recognized on a plaque at all three (3) campuses.
Qualifications for Nominees
- Must be a CSN classified employee for at least one (1) year.
- Must not have won the award within a 36-month period.
If you would like to nominate someone for Classified Employee of the Month, please submit the nomination form to Classified Council Vice President, Shuntel Owens Rogers via email or interoffice mail by the 10th of the month.
Nominees that are not selected as the CEOM, will be considered for 2 additional months.
