The Jumpstart Dual Credit Program offers Nevada junior and senior high school students a wide variety of college courses which have been approved by Clark County School District and accepted at all Nevada System of Higher Education Colleges and University, and other public colleges and universities throughout the United States. Students are allowed:
- Two college courses per semester
- 200-below level courses
- For only $25 per course, plus a $5.50 technology fee and a $6.25 surcharge fee per credit
With this low, low price parents and students experienced a saving of over $122,000 during the fall 2009 semester, which served 662 students and offered 2,311 college credits.
Students are eligible to access FREE college academic support from student services:
- Writing Lab
- Computer Lab
- Free Tutoring
- Counseling Services
Other positive features of this Program :
- Courses are taught on-site at the high school campus
- Taught by high school instructors approved by the relevant CSN academic department
- Instructors are paid a stipend per course, per semester
- Instructors are evaluated and monitored by the respective departments to ensure academic rigor and that college standards are followed
