Student Financial Services

*** Financial Aid News Alert ***

Effective Monday, November 9, 2009, Counseling, Office of the Registrar, Cashier and Student Financial Services will be open Monday 8 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday to Friday 8 am - 5 pm.

Student Financial Services (SFS) is experiencing an unusual increase in federal aid application volume.  Students expecting financial aid to help pay their Spring 2010 tuition and fees must complete and submit their 2009-2010 documentation by Monday, November 15, 2009, to ensure payment by the college’s due date.

Application materials received after November 15th, are welcomed, but these students must make plans to pay their charges by the tuition due date of January 6, 2010.  Eligible aid applicants will receive a reimbursement later in the semester.

Beginning Monday, January 11, 2010, SFS will apply financial aid (including
Millennium Scholarship) payments to the Student Accounts of eligible students.  Any remaining balance is your responsibility to pay by Friday, January 15, 2009.  Excess financial aid will be refunded to you within 14 days of the payment date unless you arrange for Direct Deposit with the Cashier’s Office.  Paper check refunds are mailed to the permanent address you have on file with the Registrar’s Office.

Take The First Step

The financial aid office is now processing aid for the 2009-2010 Academic Year. If you are planning to attend CSN in the fall 2009 and/or spring 2010 semesters and wish to apply for federal student aid, you must submit the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. Funds are often limited, and though we continue to award aid throughout the year, there may be less funds available for later applicants. Aid is awarded on a first-come, first serve, file complete basis. Applicants will be able to view their financial aid award status through the CSN Web-Reg site.
