Commencement FAQs

All graduating students are encouraged to participate in commencement exercises held at the close of the spring semester each year. During the ceremony, all bachelors, associate degrees, and certificates of achievement are recognized for summer of the previous year, fall of the previous year, and spring of the current year.

Participation in the Commencement Ceremony DOES NOT guarantee completion of a degree or graduation from CSN. The degree is conferred once a student transcript denotes completion of the declared major.

There are no limitations on the number of guests graduates can invite to help them celebrate at Commencement.

Guests do not need to RSVP to attend Commencement ceremonies.

Yes, please complete the RSVP form and select “No Preference” to be placed into a ceremony.

Yes. Please plan to participate in the full Commencement ceremony until its conclusion.

When a Ceremony has reached capacity, students will be placed in the ceremony available.
