The Physical Sciences Program features an associate of science (AS) degree that provides a direct transfer option to four-year institutions where many students earn a more specialized bachelor’s degree in a branch of physical science or engineering.
Why Study Physical Sciences at CSN?
A secondary objective may be employment upon graduation. With an AS degree, students are qualified to be lab technicians, environmental site assessors and can intern at government agencies and engineering firms.
Depending on their chosen specialty, students who graduate with a four-year degree in physical sciences typically go on to a variety of careers such as secondary education science teachers, computer programmers, civil engineers, and seismologists. Some students may choose graduate school, where even more possibilities open up from industry research positions to a university professorship.
These and other careers related to the physical sciences will require more advanced degrees.
