Nevada Promise Scholarship Details

As a last-dollar scholarship, the Nevada Promise Scholarship can cover up to three years of tuition and other mandatory fees not covered by other gift aid.

Please review CSN Cost of Attendance for additional details.

Gift aid is defined as a Federal Pell Grant, a Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), a Silver State Opportunity Grant (SSOG), or a Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship (GGMS).

  • NV Promise is last-dollar and is the last item awarded; but only if you still have a remaining balance due towards mandatory fees.
  • What to look for:
    • Before the semester's payment deadline, you will see a Protection from Enrollment Cancellation Hold in MyCSN.
      • The hold will keep you in your classes and allows Financial Aid time to finish their process.
    • If you are Promise Eligible and do not see the hold by the semester payment deadline, please contact our office as soon as possible.

The Nevada Promise Scholarship is a state funded program. Awards are contingent on available funding. If sufficient funds are not available to all eligible students, scholarships will be awarded based on the following priorities:

  • Second, students who would be receiving the award for the first time on a first-come, first-served basis based on the FAFSA completion date.
